We want to welcome you to UC Berkeley's Cloud Community of Practice. This community is being grown to bring together campus technology strategy with broad bottom-up grass-roots efforts and knowledge sharing. (You can read more about Berkeley's cloud strategy here - and also the 2020 cloud update.)
Check back here or our Cloud Resource Center for updates as things evolve. One of the key aspects of the community is it reflects people coming together and a layer of collaboration/coordination - not centralization. Where we can find common methods and approaches we are working together to do more things similarly -- while recognizing that one size does not fit all at a large research university. We have several ways for you to get involved:
- The Cloud Community of Practice Google Group: This gives you access to our community email list, to a team drive and shared calendar where we curate events that cut across many domains and disciplines.
- The public UC Berkeley Cloud Computing Meetup, hosted at Berkeley SkyDeck on the last Tuesday of the month.
- For free consultations about how your local needs might be met with cloud services, we want you to know about our CTO Consults, which involve volunteers with the right expertise to help get your efforts off on the right foot. For needs associated with academic research, we also strongly recommend Research IT's Cloud Consulting Support.
