Student Impact Partnerships

The Technology Innovation Program is establishing partnerships with student focused programs and organizations at Berkeley that foster innovation, encourage new ways of looking at the world, and promote positive change. The CTO Innovation program is piloting the first two such partnerships with Berkeley's Blum Center and Berkeley Changemaker™. The goal of these partnerships is  to bolster technology support for student ideas proposed via Berkeley Changemaker™ and the Blum Center's Big Ideas Contest that bring a dividend to the Berkeley campus and employ technology innovation in some aspect.

The program will administer $20k in technology impact prizes with Berkeley Changemaker™ and the Big Ideas Contest, to winning proposals pitched at our Spring Innovation Showcase!

In addition to technology award funding, the CTO office will work collaboratively with our partners to develop technology-oriented content for their instructional modules and promote technology's potential to amplify the students' vision and voices. The CTO Innovation program will provide technology advisory services to Berkeley Changemaker and the Blum Center. As Berkeley's Chief Innovation and Entrepreneurship Officer, Rich Lyons is also an executive sponsor and adviser to the CTO Innovation Program.
