FY20 Awardee Profile: RTL AR/VR Community of Practice and Support Program

RTL will partner with the CTO and our 2020 Berkeley Changemaker Technology Innovation Grant awardees Insight XR, Ethnic Studies Podcast/AR, Lucid Learning, and VRTutor (and others on campus who are interested) to develop a community of practice for AR/VR supporting instruction and research. RTL will assess future possibilities for a more formal program including supporting services, frameworks, and best practices drawn from learnings from academics already working with these technologies. The RTL AR/VR program will assist AR/VR experiments in conforming to UC Berkeley accessibility policy to accommodate users with disabilities, beging consideration of interoperability standards for equipment, and issues around re-use of content, long term curation and opportunities to standardize technology and approaches to scale AR/VR experiments more widely across Berkeley.
